John Fisher, piano

John Fisher was born in Brisbane in 1984 and began studying at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University in 1997. Since 1998, John has been studying with Natasha Vlassenko and Oleg Stepanov.

He won 1st prize in several competitions including the Queensland Piano Competition and the Yamaha Australian National Piano Competition. He also won 3rd prize in the Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition and 1st prize in the 4MBS Chamber Music Competition. John has appeared in the Tyalgum Festival of Classical Music, Kawai Keyboard Series and the 4MBS Beethoven Sonata Series.

He has appeared as soloist with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the Queensland Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra.

In 2005 John was awarded the Bachelor of Music (Advanced Performance) with First Class Honours and is at present completing his Master of Music (Advanced Performance).
