The BPO has worked with some of the most talented local and international instrumentalists and vocalists including international didgeridoo player William Barton, mezzo-soprano Deborah Humble, tenor Rosario La Spina, and cellist Markus Stocker.

The BPO receives increasing numbers of requests from soloists and groups to perform with the orchestra every year.

Intending soloists and groups should be aware that:

  • The orchestra's repertoire is planned about one year ahead to ensure adequate rehearsal and performance venue availability, member availability and timely marketing and preparation;
  • The BPO is unable to pay airfares, accommodation or performance fees for soloists;
  • The BPO has a home-grown or local talent first policy which means that its annual performance program represents a balance of local and international or national talent.

For composers who would like the BPO to perform one of their compositions, we suggest you contact us to discuss the work and what it entails first. Please do not send a CD sample or score in the first instance.
