Guest Artists & Artistic Partners

The BPO has worked with some of the most talented local and international artists. These include didgeridoo player William Barton, mezzo-soprano Deborah Humble, tenor Rosario La Spina, and cellist Markus Stocker.

The orchestra has also worked as a presenting partner with associations such as the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, 4MBS Classic FM, and the Queensland Music Festival. The BPO also maintains strong links with leading educational institutions and organisations.

Prospective Guest Artists

The BPO receives increasing numbers of requests from soloists and groups to perform with the orchestra every year.

The BPO is not a professional orchestra. Prospective artists and composers should be available for anywhere between three to five weeks prior to a performance to attend regular rehearsals with the conductor or orchestra.

Intending soloists and groups should be aware that the BPO is unable to pay airfares, accommodation, or professional performance fees.

The orchestra's repertoire is planned about one year ahead to ensure adequate rehearsal and performance venue availability, member availability, and timely marketing and preparation.

The BPO has an Australian or ‘local talent first’ policy but does not exclude expressions of interest from abroad.

For composers who would like the BPO to perform one of their compositions, we suggest you contact us to discuss the work with us first. Please do not send a CD sample or score in the first instance.
